It is a fact universally acknowledged that one of the best things that you can have on a summer's day (other than water, probably), is the good old classic drink, lemonade! Though the classic traditional lemonade is definitely in a class of its own and remains one of the most refreshing drinks, have you considered making variations of lemonade? If you are open to it, here are some variations of lemonade that you could easily prepare at home and enjoy!
Want a unique fruity twist to your lemonade? Try adding a peach mixture, when you make your lemonade. The peach mixture can be made by adding two cups of water, sugar and peaches to a saucepan, and bringing it to a boil. Once, it boils, reduce the heat and let it simmer. Once the peaches are tender, cool it down, strain the water, and remove the peach skins. Then add this along with lemon juice and water in another pitcher. Serve it over ice! Your peach lemonade is ready! Have a sip, and you will agree- it is an extremely refreshing, rejuvenating and tasty drink, and extremely simple to make. Go Ahead, try it!
This is a variation, designed to make the lemonade relatively fizzy, which makes it even more tasty and refreshing, than regular lemonade. Make a classic lemonade, involving lemon juice, lemon concentrate, sugar and mint. Finally, add Sparkling water/ carbonated water to the mix. This lemon drink is fizzy and refreshing, and best enjoyed after a wholesome and heavy meal. Plus, it is so simple to make! Sounds like an ideal go-to drink, doesn’t it?
Do you love orange juice and lemonade? Well, here is some good news for you- you can now have both together! First, add sugar and water to a pan, and stir, until the sugar is dissolved. Once that is done, cool it, and add in both orange juice (preferably made with 3-4 oranges) and lemon juice ( squeezed from about 10 lemons). Additionally, stir in citrus zest. After an hour of resting, strain it and put the pitcher in the refrigerator for it to cool! After some time, take it out and there you have it- two of your favourite flavours in one glass. In other words, the perfect summer drink!
Red, Blue and White are classic colours that are seen together in many popular symbols in the world. Guess what though, now you can even make a lemonade combining those colours! You heard right: this lemonade is extremely easy to make and fruity and delicious! All you have to do is put together lemon juice, sugar and water in a blender, and blend until it becomes slushy. Once that is done, simply pour the lemonade, over some blueberries, which you put in the glass and top it up with some cherries! This drink is festive, as well as delicious- most appropriate especially for dates, such as the 4th of July!
Another excellent version of lemonade that you could try out is blackberry lemonade. This is also extremely easy to make! Much like the ones discussed above, bring sugar, water and lemon juice to boil in a saucepan. Once that is done, cool it, and add lemon zest. Then take a bit of blackberries and a bit of the mixture of lemon zest, and blend it. Finally, add the rest of the mixture to the pitcher and stir it!
So which variation will you try first?
