Given the price bracket in which the car has been launch, it directly takes on four rivals – the Tata Nexon, Maruti Suzuki Brezza, Hyundai Venue and Kia Sonet. In the following paragraphs, let us do an engine and price comparison of the all the five cars.

Both variants can be opted for with manual or automatic transmission.
The base variant of the Tata Nexon begins at INR 7.99 lakh, whereas the top trim goes up to INR 15.80 lakh, ex-showroom. Tata offers the Nexon with different engines – the petrol is a 1,199cc engine that makes 118.27bhp at 5,500rpm of power and 170Nm at 1,750-4,000rpm of torque, whereas the diesel engine is a 1,497cc unit that generates 118.27hp at 5,500rpm of power and 170Nm at 1,750-4,000rpm of torque. Similar to the Nexon, the Hyundai Venue is also available in petrol and diesel options starting from INR 7.94 lakh, ex-showroom and going up to INR 13.48 lakh, ex-showroom. The petrol engine is 1,197cc and makes 81.80bhp at 6,000rpm of power and 113.8Nm at 4,000rpm of torque, whereas the 1,493cc diesel engine generates 113.98hp at 4,000rpm of power and 250Nm at 1,500-2,750rpm of torque; both units can be opted with manual or automatic transmission.
Hyundai Venue’s sister Kia Sonet also comes in diesel and engine options with the price tag starting from INR 7.99 lakh and going up to INR 15.75 lakh. The 1,197cc petrol engine puts out 81.8bhp at 6,000rpm of power and 115Nm at 4,200rpm of torque, whereas the 1,493cc diesel engine generates 114bhp at 4,000rpm of power and 250Nm at 1,500-2,750rpm of torque. Given that Sonet and Venue are sister cars, their performance figures are also pretty similar.
While the price tags of all five cars compared are more or less similar, in terms of power figures, the newly-launched 3XO has a slight upper hand over the rest of the lot.
